quiet photo layouts for photographers.
matte. is a browser-based layout tool for making clean white-border photo presentations, diptychs, and small image sequences. It gives photographers a simple way to pair and frame images with polished spacing, export-ready dimensions, and no heavy design suite in the way.
matte. is made for quiet pairings and simple sequences: two frames side by side, two frames stacked, or a single finished image with enough white space to breathe.

Compose quickly
Drop in one image or a small set, choose a layout, and tune margins, aspect ratio, paper tone, and image fit from one focused workspace.
Build diptychs well
matte. is especially good at diptychs, paired frames, and simple multi-image studies where spacing and balance matter as much as the crop.
Export cleanly
Free previews are available without purchase. Paid plans unlock full-resolution PNG and JPEG exports for client, portfolio, and social use.
The editor runs in your browser, so normal composition keeps your source photographs local while you experiment with crops, borders, spacing, background tones, and export formats. It is meant for the small but frequent presentation work that sits between raw image files and a finished share, proof, portfolio detail, or client note.
I made matte. because there was not an easy, affordable way to make diptychs and related photo pairings that felt precise without opening a full design tool. matte. stays intentionally narrow: it is not a full photo editor, asset manager, or social scheduler. It does one job carefully: helping finished photographs look considered when they leave your editing workflow.
